Peach Bread

This peach bread captures the essence of summer in every bite, offering a moist and sweet treat perfect for lazy afternoons.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar (150 grams)
  • 1/2 cup 2% milk (4 ounces)
  • 1/2 cup canola oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (260 grams)
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups diced fresh peaches
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/3 cup finely diced peaches (peeled and drained of any extra juice)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
  • 12 tablespoons heavy cream or milk (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix together the granulated sugar and milk in a large bowl. Add the canola oil, egg, and vanilla extract and mix well.
  3. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  4. Add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, folding gently.
  5. Fold in the diced peaches.
  6. Prepare your baking pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  7. Bake the batter in the prepared loaf pan for 50-60 minutes.
  8. Cool the bread in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  9. Prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar, melted butter, diced peaches, vanilla extract, and heavy cream.
  10. Glaze the cooled peach bread generously.
