Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Pumpkin Puree
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese
  • ½ teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • A pinch of Nutmeg
  • Black Olives (for decoration)
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour (for cookies)
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • ½ cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup Softened Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  1. Gather your ingredients: Make sure all your ingredients are on hand—pumpkin puree, cream cheese, spices, and black olives.
  2. Prep the base: In a large bowl, mix 1 cup of pumpkin puree with 8 oz of cream cheese until smooth. Beat this mixture with a hand mixer until there are no lumps.
  3. Season it up: Sprinkle in ½ teaspoon of cumin, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and a pinch of nutmeg. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  4. Add a monster’s touch: Transfer the mix to a Halloween-themed serving dish and shape it into a “spider” or other creepy forms.
  5. Olive decoration: Slice black olives and use them to create the spider’s body and legs.
  6. Chill that blob: Refrigerate for at least an hour while you prepare the tortilla chips for serving.
  7. Preheat the oven: Start off by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Mix the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, ½ teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and ½ teaspoon of nutmeg.
  9. Combine wet ingredients: In another bowl, blend 1 cup of pumpkin puree, 1 cup of sugar, ½ cup of brown sugar, 1 cup of softened butter, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth.
  10. Combine it all together: Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture.
  11. Make pumpkin shapes: Scoop tablespoons of dough and shape them into small pumpkins.
  12. Bake and cool: Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden but the centers are soft. Remove and let cool on a rack.
