Irresistible Southern Peach Bread

A warm loaf of freshly baked bread bursting with sweet, juicy peaches, perfect for comfort food lovers.

  • 2 cups fresh peaches, peeled and diced
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prep a 9×5-inch loaf pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.
  3. Mix together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, incorporating each before adding the next, then mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and any nuts in a separate bowl.
  6. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
  7. Fold in the diced peaches.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  9. Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Cool the bread in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a healthier twist, try replacing half of the sugar with brown sugar or coconut sugar. This recipe can also be adapted with variations such as Tropical Peach Bread or Spiced Peach Bread.
