Slow Cooker Swedish Meatballs

  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the meat mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Shape the meatballs: Once mixed, shape the mixture into 1 to 1.5-inch meatballs.
  3. Brown the meatballs (optional): Heat a little olive oil in a skillet and sear the meatballs until golden on all sides.
  4. Add to the slow cooker: Place the meatballs in your slow cooker.
  5. Mix the sauce: In a separate bowl, whisk together the beef broth, heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard, then pour over the meatballs.
  6. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  7. Serve: Once cooked, give a gentle stir and serve with fresh parsley on top.
