Blueberry Lemonade Concentrate

A vibrant and refreshing blueberry lemonade concentrate perfect for summer gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups of blueberries
  • 4 cups of lemon juice
  • 4 to 6 cups of sugar
  • 1 to 3 parts water

Instructions

  1. Wash your blueberries under cool water in a colander, making sure to remove any stems or leaves.
  2. Combine the blueberries and about 2 cups of water in a large saucepan. Over medium heat, bring to a gentle simmer while mashing the berries.
  3. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a bowl, pressing down to extract blueberry juice.
  4. Add the lemon juice and sugar to the strained blueberry juice, stirring well to combine. Simmer until the sugar dissolves.
  5. Cool the mixture to room temperature, then pour it into a clean, airtight container.
  6. Mix the concentrate with water to serve as desired (1:1 for stronger lemonade or 1:3 for lighter lemonade). Serve over ice, garnished with lemon and mint.

Notes

For variations, try mixing in different berries or adding herbs like basil for a twist. Adjust sweetness to taste.
