Poires au Chocolat et Amandes Craquantes

A delightful French dessert of chocolate-dipped pears topped with crunchy almonds, perfect for cozy gatherings.

  • 4 ripe pears (Bosc or Bartlett)
  • 200g dark chocolate (60-70% cocoa)
  • 100g chopped almonds
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Wash and peel the pears, cutting them in half lengthwise and removing the core.
  3. Place the pear halves in a baking dish, cut side up, drizzled with melted butter and sugar on top.
  4. Bake the pears for about 20-25 minutes, until tender.
  5. Melt the chocolate using a double boiler or in the microwave.
  6. Dip each pear half into the melted chocolate, letting excess drip off.
  7. Sprinkle chopped almonds over the chocolate-coated pears.
  8. Bake for an additional 5 minutes for the chocolate to set.
  9. Serve warm or at room temperature with extra chocolate drizzle or ice cream.

Notes

For an elevated flavor, consider toasting the almonds before adding them. This recipe can be adapted with different nuts or fruits.
