Pear and Chocolate Clafoutis

A delightful dessert combining sweet pears and rich dark chocolate, evoking cozy memories and warmth.

  • 2 ripe pears, sliced
  • 100g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 3 eggs
  • 100g sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 200ml milk
  • 100g flour
  • Butter for greasing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Grease a baking dish or pie plate generously with butter.
  3. Arrange the sliced pears evenly in the bottom of the greased dish and sprinkle the chopped dark chocolate over them.
  4. Whisk together the eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and slightly frothy.
  5. Mix the flour and a pinch of salt in another bowl, then gradually add to the egg mixture while whisking.
  6. Incorporate the milk slowly, while continuing to whisk until smooth.
  7. Pour the batter over the arranged pears and chocolate.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool for a few minutes before slicing into squares.

Notes

For serving, dust with powdered sugar or serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
