Peach Bread

This Peach Bread is a delightful treat filled with sweet peaches that brings back memories of summer afternoons and family gatherings.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup diced fresh peaches
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a 9×5-inch loaf pan by greasing it and dusting it with flour.
  3. Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  4. Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing after each, then stir in the vanilla.
  6. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients until just incorporated.
  7. Fold in the peaches and walnuts gently.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for 55-65 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  10. Cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

This bread can be served for breakfast, as a snack, or even as dessert. Garnish with powdered sugar and serve with honey or cream cheese.
