Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

A cozy classic that warms the heart with juicy beef patties in a luscious gravy.

  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1/2 cup Onion, finely chopped
  • 8 oz Mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cups Beef Broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp Water
  • Oil for browning

Instructions

  1. Prep the Beef Mixture: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
  2. Shape the Patties: Form the mixture into oval-shaped patties, about ½ inch thick.
  3. Brown the Patties: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the patties for about 3 minutes on each side.
  4. Layer in the Slow Cooker: Transfer the browned patties to the slow cooker. Add mushrooms, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce.
  5. Cook It Low and Slow: Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  6. Thicken the Gravy: Mix cornstarch with water and stir into the slow cooker 30 minutes before serving.
  7. Final Touches: Stir gently and let thicken for the last half hour of cooking.

Notes

Serve over creamy mashed potatoes with green beans or corn. Garnish with fresh parsley for a touch of freshness!
