Apple Fritter Breakfast Bake

A cozy breakfast bake that combines the flavors of apples, cinnamon, and oats into a delightful dish perfect for the whole family.

  • 34 medium-sized apples, peeled and diced
  • 2 cups oats or all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • A pinch of nutmeg
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar or maple syrup
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • Optional: powdered sugar mixed with a splash of milk or vanilla extract for glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a 9×13 inch baking dish by greasing it with butter or non-stick spray.
  3. Mix the dry ingredients: whisk together oats or flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and baking powder.
  4. In another bowl, beat the eggs and then add the milk. Mix in any alternative sweetener if using.
  5. Combine the wet and dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  6. Fold in the diced apples gently.
  7. Transfer the mixture into the baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  8. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until golden brown. A toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean.
  9. Mix powdered sugar with a little milk for the glaze while the bake cools.
  10. Serve warm cut into squares, optionally topped with yogurt or whipped cream.

Notes

This recipe is easy to customize. You can add nuts, cranberries, or a caramel drizzle for extra flavor.
