P.F. Chang’s Lettuce Wraps

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup water chestnuts, diced
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lettuce leaves (like iceberg or butterhead) for wrapping

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling: In a skillet over medium heat, add that tablespoon of vegetable oil. Once it’s hot and shimmering, toss in your minced garlic. Sauté it for about 30 seconds.
  2. Cook the chicken: Add the ground chicken to the skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned.
  3. Incorporate the crunch: Add the diced water chestnuts and green onions, stirring them in. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  4. Add the sauces: Pour in the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Stir and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Final tasting: Taste the mixture and adjust seasoning if needed.
  6. Prepare the lettuce: Rinse and dry your lettuce leaves.
  7. Assemble the wraps: Spoon chicken filling into the center of each lettuce leaf, fold, and enjoy!

Notes
