Pear Fondant Cake

A moist and delicately sweet cake infused with the rich flavor of ripe pears, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe pears
  • 3 eggs
  • 100g sugar
  • 100g flour
  • 50g butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F).
  2. Grease a round cake tin (about 8 inches in diameter) with butter, and lightly dust it with flour.
  3. Mix the melted butter, sugar, and eggs in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the vanilla extract to the wet mixture.
  5. Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  6. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients gently.
  7. Prepare the pears by peeling, coring, and slicing them into thin wedges.
  8. Fold in the sliced pears into the batter.
  9. Pour the batter into the prepared cake tin.
  10. Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Cool the cake in the tin for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.

Notes

Dust with powdered sugar before serving and enjoy with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
