Viral Beef Hamburger Potato Casserole

A cozy and comforting casserole filled with layers of ground beef, potatoes, and cheese, perfect for family dinners.

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: garlic powder, paprika, and other seasonings to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain fat if necessary.
  3. Sauté the chopped onions in the skillet until softened and translucent (about 4-5 minutes).
  4. Mix the cream of mushroom soup and milk in a separate bowl until smooth. Add optional seasonings if desired.
  5. Layer in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish: half of sliced potatoes, half of beef and onion mix, half of soup mixture, and half of cheese. Repeat the layers and finish with cheese on top.
  6. Bake covered with foil for about 45 minutes, then remove foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  7. Serve after letting it sit for about 10 minutes.

Notes

This casserole can be made ahead of time and frozen. Just ensure it’s well-covered. It tastes even better the next day!
