Deliciously Simple Beef and Broccoli Stir-fry

A cozy kitchen classic, this Beef and Broccoli Stir-fry is packed with vibrant flavors and nostalgia, perfect for dinner with family or friends.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef (sliced thinly)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp ginger (grated)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef: Slice your beef thinly against the grain. If you’re short on time, freeze the beef for about 30 minutes before slicing.
  2. Marinade: In a bowl, combine the sliced beef, soy sauce, and a pinch of pepper. Let it marinate for about 15-30 minutes.
  3. Heat Your Pan: Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil and let it get hot.
  4. Cook the Beef: Add the marinated beef to the hot skillet and cook for about 3-5 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  5. Sauté the Aromatics: In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of oil, garlic, and ginger, stirring for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Add the Broccoli: Toss in the broccoli florets and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until bright green and crisp-tender.
  7. Bring it All Together: Return the beef to the skillet, add the oyster sauce, and toss everything together. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  8. Serve your Beef and Broccoli Stir-fry hot over rice, garnished with sesame seeds or scallions.

Notes

You can prep the ingredients ahead of time but cooking fresh is recommended for the best flavor and texture. Feel free to customize with additional veggies or proteins.
