Chicken and Mushroom Lettuce Wraps

  • 1 cup mushrooms, diced (preferably shiitake or button mushrooms)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • Lettuce leaves for wrapping (butter lettuce or romaine)
  • Chopped green onions for garnish
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients by dicing mushrooms, red bell pepper, garlic, and ginger.
  2. Heat the pan over medium heat and add sesame oil.
  3. Cook the ground chicken until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add minced garlic and ginger; stir until fragrant.
  5. Incorporate the diced mushrooms and red bell pepper; sauté until softened.
  6. Flavor with soy sauce and hoisin sauce; let it simmer.
  7. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
  8. Wrap a spoonful of the mixture in lettuce leaves and enjoy!
