Cheeseburger Pockets

Delightful cheeseburger pockets filled with ground beef, cheese, and onions, wrapped in flaky pie crusts for a cozy meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 package refrigerated pie crusts
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it apart until browned (7-10 minutes), then drain excess fat.
  2. Sauté the chopped onions in the same skillet until soft and translucent (about 5 minutes), then mix with beef.
  3. Mix in shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
  4. Prepare the pie crusts by rolling them out and cutting circles (about 4-5 inches in diameter).
  5. Fill each circle with a spoonful of the beef and cheese mixture.
  6. Seal the pockets by brushing edges with beaten egg, folding in half, pressing edges together, and crimping with a fork.
  7. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Cool for a few minutes before serving warm.

Notes

These pockets can be frozen before or after baking. To prevent leaking, avoid overfilling and crimp edges tightly.
