Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Ground Beef (80/20 mix)
  • 1 Onion (finely diced)
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Paprika (smoked or sweet)
  • 1/2 cup Bread Crumbs
  • 1 Egg
  • Cheese (optional, e.g. cheddar or pepper jack)
  • 4 Burger buns

Instructions

  1. Prepare the meat mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, finely diced onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, paprika, bread crumbs, and egg.
  2. Form the patties: Divide the mixture into equal sections (about 4-6), and form into patties about 1/2 inch thick.
  3. Chill the patties: Place the formed patties on a parchment-lined tray and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Get your grill/skillet ready: Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Cook the patties: Place the chilled patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip.
  6. Toast the buns: Lightly toast your buns on the grill or in a toaster until they’re golden and slightly crisp.
  7. Assemble your burgers: Layer your cooked patties onto the toasted buns and top with your favorite additions.
  8. Serve and enjoy: Dig in and enjoy the satisfaction of a homemade burger!

Notes

For maximum flavor, avoid overmixing the beef and consider chilling the patties to help maintain their shape while cooking.
