Slow Cooker Honey BBQ Pulled Chicken

A comforting and delicious pulled chicken recipe cooked in a slow cooker, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts
  • 1/2 cup Honey
  • 1 cup BBQ Sauce
  • 1 Onion, diced
  • 2 Garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt and Pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Start by placing your chicken breasts at the bottom of the slow cooker. If your chicken is frozen, just add an extra hour of cooking time.
  2. Add the Onions and Garlic: Sprinkle the diced onions and minced garlic over the chicken.
  3. Mix in Honey and BBQ Sauce: Drizzle the honey over the chicken and add your BBQ sauce to coat the chicken evenly.
  4. Season with Salt and Pepper: Generously sprinkle salt and pepper over the top.
  5. Set the Slow Cooker: Cover and set your slow cooker on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  6. Shred the Chicken: Once cooked through, shred the chicken with two forks right in the cooker.
  7. Serve: Spoon the pulled chicken onto buns and drizzle extra BBQ sauce if desired.

Notes

Serve with coleslaw, on baked potatoes, nacho chips or over rice for variety. You can also use jackfruit as a vegan alternative.
