Graveyard Poke Cake

A spooky twist on a classic dessert, perfect for Halloween celebrations!

Ingredients

  • 1 Chocolate Cake (boxed or homemade)
  • 1 Package of Chocolate Pudding Mix
  • Whipped Topping (like Cool Whip)
  • Chocolate Cookie Crumbs
  • Gummy Worms
  • Cookie Tombstones

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  3. Prepare the chocolate cake mix as directed on the package and pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  4. Bake according to package instructions or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. While the cake cools, whisk together the chocolate pudding mix with the appropriate amount of milk until thick.
  6. Let it sit for about 5 minutes.
  7. Poke holes all over the slightly cooled cake with a skewer or spoon.
  8. Pour the chocolate pudding mixture over the cake, filling the holes.
  9. Cover the cake with plastic wrap and chill in the fridge for about 2 hours.
  10. Spread the whipped topping over the cake evenly.
  11. Sprinkle chocolate cookie crumbs over the whipped topping.
  12. Arrange gummy worms on top of the cake.
  13. Decorate with cookie tombstones and edible markers if desired.

Notes

This cake can be made up to a day in advance and stored in the fridge. Suitable for getting kids involved in the kitchen!
