Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Vanilla Layer Cake (store-bought or homemade)

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons heavy cream

  5. Cool the cakes in the pans for 10-15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  6. Beat the butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar and heavy cream until fluffy. Stir in vanilla extract.
  7. Assemble by layering the yellow cake, frosting, orange layer, more frosting, and finally the white layer on top.
  8. Cover the cake with a thin crumb coat and chill for 30 minutes to set.
  9. Frost the cake smoothly with the remaining buttercream and add decorative touches if desired.
