Flognarde aux Poires

A cozy French dessert that blends the fluffiness of custard with sweet pears, reminiscent of a warm hug from home.

Ingredients

  • 4 medium pears, peeled and sliced
  • 3 eggs
  • 100g sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 250ml milk
  • 100g flour
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Butter for greasing

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Oven: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Prep the Pears: Arrange sliced pears evenly in a buttered baking dish.
  3. Whisk the Eggs and Sugar: Beat 3 eggs and 100g of sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Add Vanilla and Milk: Stir in vanilla extract and milk until combined.
  5. Incorporate the Flour and Salt: Sift in flour and salt, gently fold until just combined.
  6. Pour Over the Pears: Carefully pour the batter over the arranged pears in the baking dish.
  7. Bake to Perfection: Bake for about 30-40 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Cool Slightly: Let it sit for about 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar, or topped with whipped cream or ice cream. Garnish with mint or honey for extra flair.
