The BEST Old Fashioned Burger

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 slices of cheese (optional)
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Onion slices
  • Pickles
  • Condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Patties
  2. Form the beef by mixing with salt and pepper.
  3. Shape mixture into four equal patties.
  4. Create a slight indentation in the center of each patty.
  5. Heat the cooking surface on the grill or skillet.
  6. Oil the skillet if needed.
  7. Cook the burgers for about 3-4 minutes on the first side.
  8. Flip the patties and add cheese if desired; cook for an additional 3-4 minutes.
  9. Warm the buns on the grill or skillet cut-side down.
  10. Layer the burger by adding toppings on the bottom bun.
  11. Cap it off with the top bun.
