P.F. Chang’s Chicken Lettuce Wraps

  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup water chestnuts, diced
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 head of butter or iceberg lettuce, leaves separated

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil: In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Sauté the onions: Add the diced onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the garlic: Toss in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Cook the chicken: Add the ground chicken and cook until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Stir in the sauces: Pour in soy sauce, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil.
  6. Crunch it up: Gently fold in the diced water chestnuts and green onions.
  7. Prepare the lettuce: Separate the lettuce leaves and lay them out on a serving platter.
  8. Serve and enjoy: Spoon the chicken mixture into the center of the lettuce leaves.
