Cherry Brownies

A delightful treat that combines the richness of brownies with the sweet, juicy burst of cherries, bringing warmth and nostalgia to your kitchen.

  • 4 ounces bittersweet chocolate (chopped)
  • 3/4 cup salted butter (cubed)
  • 1/2 cup natural unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup (106g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup halved fresh cherries (stems and pits removed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt the chocolate and butter in a medium saucepan over low heat until smooth.
  3. Mix in granulated sugar and brown sugar until glossy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla.
  5. Incorporate the dry ingredients (cocoa powder, flour, salt) gently into the mixture.
  6. Mix in the chocolate chips and halved cherries, ensuring even distribution.
  7. Prepare a baking pan with parchment paper, pour in the batter, and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before cooling completely on a wire rack and slicing.

Notes

For extra flair, serve the brownies with whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, or a drizzle of chocolate sauce.
