Leftover Pot Roast Patty Melts

A comforting twist on traditional sandwiches made with leftover pot roast, cheese, and caramelized onions.

Ingredients

  • 23 cups leftover shredded pot roast
  • 8 slices sturdy bread
  • 3 tablespoons butter (plus more for the bread)
  • 2 medium onions (thinly sliced)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices Provolone cheese
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons steak sauce
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Prep the onions by melting butter in a skillet and sautéing the onions until golden.
  2. Mix the leftover pot roast with mayonnaise, steak sauce, and pepper.
  3. Butter one side of each bread slice.
  4. Assemble the Patty Melts by layering pot roast mixture, cheese, and onions between slices of bread.
  5. Cook the sandwiches in a skillet until golden brown on both sides.
  6. Slice and serve with fries or pickles.

Notes

Add extra ingredients or seasonings according to your taste. Great for using up leftovers!
