Raclette: A Hearty Meal That Brings Us Together

Raclette is a delightful dish perfect for cozy gatherings, featuring melted cheese served with various accompaniments.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 150200 g Raclette cheese per person (sliced into 8mm slices)
  • New potatoes (boiled, about 4 to 6 per person)
  • Bacon
  • Beef fillet (thickly sliced)
  • Chipolata sausages (or other small pork sausages)
  • Courgette (zucchini, thickly sliced)
  • Red capsicum (bell peppers, thickly sliced)
  • Cornichons and pickled baby corn
  • Barbecue sauce
  • Ketchup

Instructions

  1. Prep the Ingredients: Boil your new potatoes in salted water until fork-tender (about 15-20 minutes). While they’re cooking, slice your Raclette cheese into uniform 8mm thick slices, making sure they’re ready to melt!
  2. Grill Preparation: If you have a Raclette grill, set it up in the center of your dining table — it’s all about the experience! If not, a regular tabletop grill or even a good cast-iron skillet will work just as well.
  3. Cook the Bacon and Sausages: In a frying pan, cook your bacon until crispy, then set it aside. Next, grill the chipolata sausages until they’re golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Grill Your Veggies: After the meat is done, toss your courgettes and red capsicum on the grill until they’re slightly charred.
  5. Melting the Cheese: Place the sliced Raclette cheese under the grill or in a small pan set over low heat, watching it closely until it’s deliciously melty.
  6. Arrange the Dishes: As the cheese is melting, arrange the potatoes, bacon, sausages, and grilled veggies on a large platter.
  7. Dig In! Grab a plate, take a boiled potato, pile on some Raclette cheese, add bacon, sausages, and veggies, then finish with cornichons and any sauces you like.
