Ingredients

  • Plain or cinnamon raisin bagels
  • Sweet and tart apples (e.g., Granny Smith and Fuji)
  • Rolled oats or all-purpose flour
  • Eggs (or flax eggs for a vegan option)
  • Whole milk, almond milk, or yogurt
  • Cinnamon
  • Sweetener (brown sugar, maple syrup, or honey)
  • Vanilla extract or almond extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cut the bagels into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Peel, core, and chop your apples into small cubes and add them to the bowl.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cinnamon, sweetener, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Pour the custard mixture over the bagel and apple mixture, gently folding everything together.
  6. Sprinkle the rolled oats or flour evenly over the mixture.
  7. Transfer your mixture into a greased baking dish, pressing down slightly for even cooking.
